Can you host my new / existing website?
Yes, we manage our own servers and are happy to discuss your hosting requirements, whether you are a design / development customer or not. Do you design websites in-house?
Apart from this website, no we don't. We use a select group of external graphic designers to create the look and feel of a website.
Do you offer a guarantee on your work?
Yes we do. If there is a bug or other error on a website we've created in the 12 months post launch we will fix it for you free of charge.
Will my site be SEO optimised?
SEO and digital marketing is an ongoing service that isn't covered by an initial build cost. However, we will, when developing your website, ensure pages are created with SEO (Technical and On-Page) in mind. For instance; all images used will have alt tags, all pages only a single H1 tag etc. All pages will be tested in the Lighthouse plugin from Google within Developer Tools to ensure that they pass the Core Web Vitals at least at 90%.
What is Laravel?
Laravel is a fantastic PHP framework. PHP is the language that is used to code WordPress and many other of the most common web applications. Think of Laravel as a skeleton that you can use to build an application that does exactly what you want without the compromises you occasionally have to accept with other platforms. Websites coded with Laravel tend to be faster and more flexible than those coded with something like WordPress as you are dealing with the underlying language without layers of code. Think Tesla in ludicrous mode.
What is NodeJS?
NodeJS is a technology developed from work done by Google to speed up the Javascript framework. It was released as an engine to allow you to run Javascript code on a server. A more modern alternative to PHP. The benefit of a site built using Node is that they usually run fast are exceptionally flexible and scale to accept alot of traffic exceptionally efficiently. Most developers use another framework with Node. Signalfire using ExpressJS.
What is react and vue?
ReactJS and VueJS are two frameworks that are built in Javascript and which (usually) run on a visiting users computer rather than on a server. ReactJS and VueJS are used where higher levels of interactivity are desired for a page. Think lots of animations, loaders and fancy effects.
What CSS Framework would you use to build my website or web app?
We use a framework called Tailwind for all our own website development work, regardless of the underlying technology being used to build the site. Whether WordPress, Laravel, Shopify or Node we use Tailwind. However, if you need us to use something like Bootstrap or another framework we are happy to discuss this.
How do you accept payment for builds?
We charge in 3 equal payments with payment expected on production of an invoice. The final invoice must be paid within 30 days of receipt. We only accept payment via direct bank payment.
